Pastor Pankow originally hails from Wisconsin. He went to Northwestern College and then graduated on to Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. During his eight years of schooling Pastor underwent a number of hands on experiences, including serving congregations in Nebraska and South Carolina. These "vicarships" helped him to get acquainted with the ministry. While he was going to school, he also was trained in the original languages of the Bible, counseling, Bible history and doctrine, sermon preparation, and counseling at the cross. The Wisconsin Synod has always put a great deal of time and effort in trying to make sure that it's pastors are thoroughly trained. After Pastor graduated from the Seminary in 1995, he was called to a dual parish in Norton, KS, and McCook, NE. He served these rural congregations for five years before he received the call to Beautiful Savior in Topeka. It was during this time that Pastor also met his wife, Rebekah. They were married in the fall of 1996. They now have five children, Tristan, Rylee, Logan, Maia and Landon. They range from ages 9 to 9 months. Rebekah is presently raising the children and has also started schooling to get into massage therapy. Pastor Pankow now has over 11 years of ministry experience and 10 years of family experience as well. As his children go to public school and he volunteers for the Topeka Police Chaplaincy he is also attempting to get to know the people of Topeka better and to become a more integral part of the community. Having been in the congregation for six years he is now acquainted with the congregation and trying to lead the people forward for their next twenty five years of serving their Lord. |
